Microsoft’s Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition is now a real buying decision rather than just anniversary hardware. As checked on 3 October 2026, Xbox lists the US price at $899.99, with the limited collection launching on November 13, 2026.
The problem is value. This is a 1TB Series X built around collectible design and bundled extras, not a new generation of Xbox hardware. Buyers should therefore separate the anniversary appeal from gaming performance before paying the premium.
What you get for $899.99
The X25 uses a translucent OG Green design inspired by the original Xbox. Microsoft says each console is individually numbered and engraved, includes the matching Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition, and includes a full-game download of Halo: Campaign Evolved.
Storage is 1TB. Microsoft’s product page continues to describe Series X capabilities including true 4K gaming and support for frame rates up to 120 FPS, but the X25 should not be mistaken for a faster successor console. Its selling point is the limited-edition package.
- US MSRP checked 3 October 2026: $899.99
- Launch date: November 13, 2026
- Storage: 1TB SSD
- Individually numbered engraved console
- Matching X25 Special Edition controller included
- Halo: Campaign Evolved full-game download included
The price comparison matters
Xbox currently lists the standard 1TB disc-drive Series X at $799.99 in the US. That puts the X25 anniversary package $100 above the standard 1TB disc model at current official pricing.
That $100 difference is easier to defend for a collector who specifically wants the numbered translucent console, matching controller and included Halo game. For a buyer who only wants Series X performance, the anniversary finish does not create extra frame rate, storage or a new GPU generation.
What about UAE buyers?
Microsoft says the anniversary collection is available only in select markets and that pricing varies by market. CatchThePrice did not find a sufficiently reliable official UAE AED price during this check, so this guide does not convert the US MSRP and present that conversion as UAE retail pricing.
UAE buyers should compare verified local authorized-retailer listings when stock appears. Limited-edition imports can carry large reseller markups, and paying well above an official regional price only makes sense if the collectible value matters personally to you.
Who should buy it?
Buy it if you already wanted a Series X, strongly value Xbox history, and consider the numbered translucent design and matching controller worth the $100 official-price premium over the current standard 1TB disc model.
Skip it if your priority is gaming performance per dollar. The X25 is anniversary hardware, not evidence of a generational performance upgrade. A standard Series X or a discounted console can be the more rational purchase for playing the same library.
CatchThePrice verdict
At $899.99, the Xbox Series X25 is a collector-first purchase. The official $100 premium over the currently listed $799.99 standard 1TB disc Series X is not absurd for the numbered design, special controller and Halo bundle, but none of those extras makes games run faster.
Confirmed as of 3 October 2026: US MSRP, November 13 launch date, 1TB storage, numbered engraving, included X25 controller and Halo: Campaign Evolved. Rumors used: none. No unverified UAE price is stated.
